Causeway Museum Service

Causeway Museum Service is a partnership of four local authorities established to develop and deliver museum services. Coleraine is the lead partner with Ballymoney, Moyle and Limavady. Causeway Museum Service has grown since 2000 through strategic planning to develop and deliver policy, temporary exhibition programming, collections care, community outreach, collections development, publications and to secure partnerships, external funding and promotion.

Since 2000 Causeway Museum Service has –

• delivered 11 regional touring exhibitions and 10 local exhibitions

• developed all collections through acquisitions and published research

• achieved UK government museum standards for all its collections

• secured £500,000 external funding for exhibitions, staff, acquisitions and publications

• developed partnerships with community education and voluntary groups

• developed learning resources – e-media, handling boxes, publication
