Ballymoney Gears Up for FoodFest 2007

The catering and hospitality sector throughout Ballymoney borough is once again gearing up as it prepares for ‘FoodFest’ 2007, a series of food based events, activities and special offers presented by many of the borough’s best food and beverage purveyors.

This festival of good food, which is supported by Council and the EU Building Sustainable Prosperity Programme, is now in its third year and continues to go from strength to strength. The festival aims to promote the hospitality sector in the borough, local produce and local producers and the activities of the sector during the week will be promoted and supported by a high profile advertising campaign utilising a wide-ranging promotional mix including radio, billboard and press advertising and a high intensity promotional brochure distribution.

Commencing on Monday 18th June and running for 6 days, residents and visitors alike will be encouraged to partake of the excellent offers, hospitality and high quality food on offer, with many of the ingredients for the dishes being sourced from local produce.

During the festival week local coffee shops, takeaways and restaurants will all be tempting you with special offers and exclusive menus. From speciality European coffees in the morning, gourmet sandwiches and classical dishes at lunchtime to world class cuisine, in many cases made using the finest local produce, in the evening and not forgetting the wide range of international and more traditional take away delicacies, there is something to tantalise the taste buds of everyone.
In addition many of the eating establishments will also be offering special discounts on meals and dishes throughout the week, details of which will be contained in a specially commissioned ‘discount chequebook’ produced for the festival.

Throughout the festival there will also be a series of events and activities with a clear focus on good food including a school’s cookery competition, the Great Sausage Event, a gourmet bar-b-que and fine food fair in CastleCroft Square and of course the ever popular wine-tasting at TESCO’s.
